Essential Tools for Bloggers and Social Media

I As a social media consultant and internet marketer I know how important it is to have the right links so fans can see and navigate to your various pages easily.

Just as importantly, these days it's critical to have the proper Wordpress plugins to help coordinate easy sharing between your Facebook, Twitter, blog and other social media accounts and allow your consumers and fans to share your content as well.

Here are some easy-to-use Wordpress plugins I have found that are easy to use, install and will help you get the most out of your blog and other social media accounts.

Easy To Use Wordpress Plugins

One of my favorite plugins is sociable. It allows you to give your blog readers about 30 different social media sites to share your content with. All they have to do is click on the link. You can choose from all 30 or just the main ones you think readers will want to utilize.

Another favorite is the Google +1 button. It gives your blog an edge since many blogs don't yet feature this neat little feature that is similar to Facebook's Like Button. With enough +1 button clicks on an article you'll move up in the Google page rankings.

To help with getting the word out on your blog and sharing, Onlywire is another plugin that makes life easier for the social media practitioner.

This plugin can be easily configured so that each time you post on a blog, your other social media accounts like Linkedin, Digg and others are notified as well (as long as you have accounts with each of those social media sites).

All-in-one-SEO is a tool that automatically optimizes your Wordpress blog for search engine optimization. In layman's terms, it means it will helped you get ranked higher in Google so you may wind up on page one of searches rather than page 13.

Another tool I really like appears at the left upper corner of my blog. It's called the Follow Me button and the plugin is called My Social Links Bar. It allows fans to click on the button and be taken to my Facebook, YouTube and Twitter pages.

Stop Comment Spam Dead

I would also be remiss if I didn't conclude with my favorite plugin of the moment. Called the Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin, this baby has pretty much ended my problem of those pesky fans seeking backlinks to their websites.

Ask any blogger what one of their biggest headaches is and they'll readily concede it's people who leave comments on blogs that are nothing more than backlinks to their website. This tool eliminated my problem the minute I installed it.

Previously I was getting about 6-10 comments on posts each day that were pure nonsense save for the backlinks contained in the comments.

I'll admit these aren't all the plugins I use, but these should give you some good ideas what you'll need if you want to get serious about being sociable.
